Hi  There!

I'm P.A.

I'm known as lot of things: a lawyer, CPA, natural hair lover, life coach, wife, momma, Happy Feet, that Thorough Chic, the Get Stuff Done Queen, and Over-Achiever.

But at the heart of it, I'm an Identity Coach. What does that mean?

I'm just a girl living life while working in a way that's true to who I am … and giving you permission to do the same.

I'm a career strategist and identity coach who works full-time, owns multiple businesses, and still spends ample time with my toddler and husband.

I fully believe in the importance of professional women who are mothers, or aspiring mothers, taking control of their career so that they can be the moms they want to be.  And that's what I do.

I help working moms (like you) design careers and lives they wish they had ... and look good while doing it.

That could mean: changing jobs, switching careers, or building a business that gives you the flexibility to balance your career with your role as a mom; finding your style again even with your ever-changing body and busy schedule; or moving from stuck and overwhelmed to methodically knocking things off your to-do list with time to live life in a way you want.

Slow mornings, spa days, good skincare, journaling, and really great fashion.

I'm  P.A.

Hi  There!

And I know what it takes to turn it around.

I know what it feels like:
  • to feel so overwhelmed it literally feels impossible to give your kids the best part of you and still excel at your job.
  • to feel so rundown by the end of the day that the way you interact with your kids involves a lot of yelling and a lot of threats.
  • to feel stuck in your career because of the expectations around you.
   • to feel a growing resentment both at work and at home.
  • to feel guilty about wanting something else even though on the outside, it looks like you have the perfect career and there are tons of women who would kill to be in your shoes.

the breakdown

I spent the last 14 years in big, fancy corporate jobs - first as a CPA in a "Big 4" accounting firm, then as a corporate and finance attorney in a top 10  international law firm (aka "Big Law").

Both of these jobs require you to give your all--leaving no room for anything else. I'm talking no hobbies, friends, and sometimes, even spouses. I jokingly referred to my job as my 12 - 12 and not my 9 -5 because I worked around the clock.

When I became pregnant, I suspected I wouldn't be able to keep up the same pace.  And once my daughter arrived, it was clear something had to give.

In order to keep up with the demands of work and being a wife and new mom, I went 4 months straight with an average of 2 hours of sleep a night.

My body broke down and I ended up having to take a 3-month medical leave.

That's when I knew I had to do something different.

With a bit more time on my hands, I had time to really think about what I wanted and how I wanted my life to look.

It was during this time that I created my Career-Life Integration Framework to uncover the elements of a job that aligned with the way I wanted to show up in my life.

This framework allowed me to put together a roadmap on how to get the dream job that would give me the thing I wanted most and would allow me to show up as my best self in all my roles.  It provided a way to get freedom over my schedule.

One of the things I learned was working long hours wasn't what made my work and being a mother unsustainable (did I mention I now also have multiple businesses?)

It was the fact that I wasn't in a job that aligned with who I was, what I believed in, the type of clients I wanted to work with, or how I wanted to live my life.

When people are unhappy with their work and can't balance their lives, it's usually because they haven't truly uncovered what they WANT.

why  I  do what   I  do

The reason I do my work today is because as women and working moms (or aspiring moms), we are often operating in environments that did not have us in mind when they were created.

Society has prescribed what we should do, how we should parent, and whether we should work.  Because of this we can find it difficult or shameful to want to be both ambitious and be a "good" mom.

I believe the most powerful way I can create change in the world is by providing moms who also want amazing careers a roadmap on how to build that career so that it is in alignment with who they are and how they want to live.

To that end, I lovingly call this space The Girl Meets Soul Lifestyle (or "The GMS Lifestyle" for short). And here, I strive to help you live a life that allows you to be unapologetically you in all of your roles.

Through my blog, Girl Meets Soul, and my coaching services, I give you the tools and guidance to help you reach your goals.

I   believe  gender  equality   improves  society  as  a   whole.

According to the medical journal The Lancet, gender equality in science, medicine, and global health alone has the potential to lead to substantial health, social, and economic gains.

This is why I help moms like you build careers and lives you want with my Career-Life Integration Framework.
